Continuing Education – Fall 2010
When do I have to renew Certification?
Certification
expires 3 years from the month you originally took the Electrical Certification
test. ie:
if
you took the test 10/01/2009, your license expires 10/01/2012
What do I need to do to renew?
In
order to maintain your certification you must meet the following conditions:

Obtain
32 hours of Continuing Education prior to your renewal date (Completion
Certificate or Transcript required)
·
Work
a minimum of 2000 hours in the industry between the date of your test and your
renewal date.
How
do I apply for renewal?
To
renew you will need to fill out the application form that is found on the DAS
Website at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DAS/ECU/ECP_forms.htm. Submit application along with payment of $100
for each Certificate being renewed. DAS
accepts payment only by check or money order payable to: DIR
- Electrician Certification Fund. Payment must be included for
certification to be renewed. You may
also call (415) 703-4919 to request the form be sent by mail. Forms will also be available at the San
Leandro Training Center and the Union Hall in Dublin. Note:
Please send form in at least one month prior to expiration, but not more
than three months in advance. If
received more than three months in advance, the application will be returned.
All JATC classes taken after June, 2006 will count towards the 32 - hour
Continuing Education requirement for Re-Certification. You will
receive credit for the amount of actual training hours you have actually
attended.
Please review the class
descriptions provided and select the courses and times most convenient for you.
Mail-in registration begins upon receipt of completed form (along with the
required book/material fees). Please do
not wait to register as some classes fill quickly.
Courses
will be filled on a first come and paid, first served basis to IBEW members (proof of current dues receipt required on first class session). Fees will
be returned if the class is cancelled.
Minimum and Maximum enrollment class sizes will be enforced. There are no refunds
for classes paid for but not attended.
All
registrations must be mailed or submitted in person at these times and this location:
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM -
to 5:00 PM

All classes will be held at the Alameda
County JATC Training Center at 3033 Alvarado St., San Leandro, CA.
