When do I have to renew Certification?

Certification expires 3 years from the month you originally took the Electrical Certification test. ie:

if you took the test 10/01/2009, your license expires 10/01/2012

What do I need to do to renew?

In order to maintain your certification you must meet the following conditions:

·         Obtain 32 hours of Continuing Education prior to your renewal date (Completion Certificate or Transcript required)

·         Work a minimum of 2000 hours in the industry between the date of your test and your renewal date.

How do I apply for renewal?

To renew you will need to fill out the application form that is found on the DAS Website at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DAS/ECU/ECP_forms.htm.  Submit application along with payment of $100 for each Certificate being renewed.  DAS accepts payment only by check or money order payable to:  DIR - Electrician Certification Fund.
